What is Mobile Broadband? |
 |
|
|
Mobile Broadband is a broadband Internet service provided over the cellular phone network, allowing you to access broadband anywhere there is mobile phone reception.
To access Mobile Broadband, you need a small USB modem, which is roughly the size and shape of a USB memory stick. A SIM card is placed in the modem, the modem is plugged into the computer, and you can get online!
Broadband available when and where you want to use it.
Speeds of up to 3000Kbps, dependant on coverage.
5 email addresses and 20MB of members webspace included.
No contracts or exit fees.
No excess usage fees.
Please note that unlike other DCSI broadband services, both uploads and downloads count toward your monthly usage. If your monthly usage is exceeded, access to the service will be suspended until your usage resets.

Coverage |

DCSI Mobile Broadband is provided through the Optus mobile phone network. You can check coverage for a street address online by clicking here. You must be within the yellow (3G 2100MHz HSDPA) or brown (900MHz HSDPA) coverage areas to be able to use your Mobile Broadband service at the given location.
If you are within a 50km radius of Warragul, then where needed, a technician will visit your location and verify that coverage is sufficient. For those outside this radius, DCSI provides a 7-day coverage guarantee. If you are not able to use your Mobile Broadband at your location due to a lack of coverage, return the modem and its packaging to DCSI within 7 days of being connected for a full refund less the cost of the SIM card and any data used.

Some system requirements apply for use of the USB 3G Modem. Please ensure that your computer meets the following specifications before purchasing.

Although DCSI provides the Internet service, coverage is through the Optus 3G network. Coverage is not available in all areas. This service will work only in Australia and only in areas that are covered by the Optus 3G/HSDPA GSM network. |

3.6Mbps is the maximum attainable speed. Actual speed is dependant on signal strength, interference, network congestion, and network coverage. |

Peer-to-peer file transfer software such as BitTorrent, Limewire, and Kazaa, may not be used on a Mobile Broadband service. |

You can change your plan at any time for no charge. Plan changes take effect immediately, and result in pro-rata billing and pro-rata data for the given month. |
